“Safety of equipment used in environments with risk of explosion“
TR CU 012/2011 concerns electric equipment, including Ex-components and non-electric equipment used in environments with risk of explosion.
In Customs Union, equipment used in explosion-risk environment and Ex-components need to have:
-
means of protection against explosions stated in technical documentation of producer
-
label designating an explosion-risk environment.

Special labeling of equipment used in explosion-risk environments within the Customs Union.
Parameters of the special labeling are identified by producer of the equipment for use in exposion-risk environments. Default parameter of rectangular’s height should be at at least 10 mm.

This Technical regulation of the Custom Union is not concerning:
-
medical equipment;
-
equipment, at which the risk of explosion is only caused by presence of explosive materials and chemically unstable substances;
-
equipment for domestic use, at which the danger is only caused by unexpected leak of heating gas;
-
personal protective gadgets;
-
sea ships, vessels of inland and mixed (river-sea) navigation, mobile seashore platforms and drilling rigs for work in marine and inland waters, other vessels or their equipment and machines;
-
public service vehicles used to transport paassengers or goods, by air, road, rail or water;
-
nuclear weapons, complexes of research facilities for nuclear defense.
Certification of equipment:
- Equipment’s confirmation of conformity is mandatory in form of certificate.
- Application to issue certificate may only request producer, its authorized representative within the Customs Union, or the customer.
- In case of series production, certificate of conformity is only issued for time interval of 1 to 5 years.
Examination of certificate’s validity
With the request for services, following documents must be attached:

demands of the customer regarding the certification (scan of the contract or technical specifications);

ignition risks evaluation;
-
customs code of delivered goods;
-
technical dicription of the equipment (technical passport);
-
use manual;
-
ATEX certificates of each individual part and accessory;
-
production tests protocols for each individual product number.
“Ignition risk evaluation, risk assessment of non-electrical equipment”: a procedure concerning evaluation of relevant protection against explosion (with respect to the category of equipment).
